James Thomas, Archaeologist.

CAREER SUMMARY
After graduating in 2000 from Troy State University, where he studied under former Alabama State Archaeologist, Mcdonald Brooms, Mr. Thomas spent well over a decade working in the southeastern United States in Cultural Resource Management. He has directed archaeological survey and testing projects, written reports, and conducted historic document searches at R.S. Webb & Associates.

His interests lie in Prehistoric Archaeology, specifically in the Paleo Period and the Woodland/Mississippian mound building societies, as well as the early contact period.  He also has a keen interest in experimental archaeology having become adept at flint knapping, and creating aboriginal tools and pottery.
